Join the EDFNL - Nominations now open

‍The EDFNL call for Director nominations is now open, closing Monday 2 November. The following positions are up for election at the Annual General Meeting in the last week of November, date to be confirmed.   ‍

  • President (2 year term)

  • Director of Football (2 year term)

  • Netball Operations Manager (2 year term)

  • Football Operations Manager (1 year term, vacancy created by resignation)

A nomination form for interested candidates can be found here. Nominations must be supported by two member clubs or a member of the League Board and a club. This nomination form is to be accompanied by a 200 word (maximum) resume outlining the suitability for the position. This resume will be circulated to voting member clubs. 

‍ Nominations must be received by the League Secretary by COB Monday 2 November,secretary@edfnl.org.au

‍The EDFNL Board is also seeking a Head Trainer to support Trainers Association Representative Alan Massaro. The purpose of this role is to administer records of Club Trainers (registration and qualifications) and to support the League in the management of HIA protocols and adherence.

President

‍The President oversees the EDFNL Board of Management, and is the Chairperson of EDFNL Meetings. The President attends AFL heads of leagues meetings locally and in Melbourne. The President liaises with with EDFNL club presidents on all league and club issues of football and netball, AFL Gippsland General Manager and Netball Victoria Eastern Manager.

The president advises AFL Gippsland re salary cap and player points, drives the Sponsorship program and oversees the delivery of the finals series.  

The President is responsible for the League administrators (Treasurer & Secretary), oversees the administration of the league constitution and its bylaws, and is accountable for the leagues finances.   ‍

Football Director

The EDFNL Football Director oversees the maintenance of the EDFNL Football By Laws, delivery of the EDFNL Match Review and Tribunal Processes via the Match Review Coordinator and is the key contact for the Gippsland Umpires Association. The Football Director will uphold the behaviour standards of the EDFNL and will be a key contact for AFL Gippsland and AFL Victoria.

Football Operations

The EDFNL Football Operations Manager is responsible for the administration of the Area Agreements with surrounding Leagues, overseeing the match day operations and paperwork and be the key contact for the review and approval of junior permits and age dispensations. Familiarity with PlayHQ would be advantageous.

A Football Administration Assistant will support both the Football Director and Football Operations Manager to execute the day-to-day functions of football. The Head Trainer position will also play a key role in supporting both positions.

A Junior Sub Committee will action the delivery of the Junior Football program, reporting to the President and with oversight and input from the Football Director positions.

The League is also supported by a Secretary and Treasurer.

Netball Operations

‍The Netball Operations Manager is responsible for the match operations of the netball competition including Netball Connect, maych day paperwork, clearances and registrations. Working closely with the Netball Score Secretary and assistant score secretrary they ensure acuracy of match data and record keeping. They work closely with the Netball Director to maintain By Laws and ensure the league is meeting governance requirements. ‍
